Tour de France comes to Yorkshire!

It's official, Yorkshire will be hosting the start of the Tour de France, arguably one of the worlds greatest cycle races.

Le Tour was the brain child of Geo Lefevre in 20th century France, and it was on the 1st of July 1903 that 60 pioneers set out on what was to become what we know today as Tour de France.

As word spread of this admirable accomplishment, le Tour soon attracted the interest of the sporting public and as a result saw the roadside crowds grow. The French locals soon took the event to their hearts and gave it their full support, placing the event in the spotlight.

The tour has survived wars and opened it self up to the rest of the world through the onset of globalisation and prosperity. And now, over one hundred years after it's introduction, le Tour de France continues to grow and gain momentum, and is an absolute pleasure to be a part of.

The popular event will be bringing millions of fans to the picturesque road sides of Yorkshire, on the 5th and 6th of July in 2014, as well as the vast numbers watching the coverage at home.
